J. Wagner GmbH is one of the world‘s leading manufacturers of coating technology for the finishing of surfaces with powder and wet lacquers, paints and other liquid materials. The product portfolio is divided into two dimensions to meet the specific requirements of customers. The Decorative Finishing division develops equipment specifically tailored to the requirements of do-it-yourselfers; the Industrial Solutions division manufactures products and systems for industrial surface coating for a wide range of industrial sectors.

Due to different requirements, the logistics and assembly of both divisions take place in different, interconnected hall areas. Until now, cleaning was a very time-consuming process carried out by the company‘s own logistics staff with the help of various cleaning devices.  Both the cleaning of the floor and the cleaning/maintenance of the corresponding equipment took up a lot of time, which was then lacking in the actual area of responsibility of logistics.

As an innovative company in the field of electrical engineering, in which we offer our customers not only components, but also solutions, we are pioneers with our own building management system interested in looking at and changing processes holistically. A large floor area with double floor slabs made of granite is located on the first floor of two buildings built directly next to each other.
These areas are used for receptions, exhibitions and events over and over.  Accordingly, cleaning has to be carried out more often and adapted to the different conditions. Already in 2019, in cooperation with ADLATUS Robotics, we have allowed the CR700 cleaning robot to travel fully autonomously to other floors with one of our elevators. Our building management system makes this possible and as a facility manager, the autonomous cleaning system is worthwhile as soon as it cleans more square meters than with a manual machine.  So here our claim is to let the CR700 communicate with elevators and doors, so that the main routes and areas are reached and cleaned by the self-propelled cleaning robot. Also cleaning on demand, e.g. in case of snow or rain, when the entrances show increased dirt, is directly passed on to the CR700 as special cleaning via our building management system, which monitors the weather data and doors, and thus the cleaning schedule of the entrances can also be triggered depending on the weather.

In combination with our own building management system, we are able to use the cleaning robot from ADLATUS Robotics in such a targeted and efficient way that it offers us added value and this does not only refer to normal maintenance cleaning!

The task at Karwendel Werke Huber was the consistent cleaning of the outside hall. The packaging for food production is stored in this hall. Here it is imperative to avoid bringing dirt or dust into production, as this is an absolute no-go. In addition, the use of a cleaning robot promised a better allocation of resources in order to be able to familiarize staff with other tasks.

Ulmer Parkbetriebe is a subsidiary of the city of Ulm. The company owns six parking garages that are open around the clock. The big challenges for the cleaning robot at the parking garage at the town hall in the “Neue Mitte” are, in addition to the narrow path width, a highly frequented public traffic and the bypassing of the support columns.

On the one hand, the robot is intended to facilitate the work of the cleaning staff.So far, they have cleaned the warehouse with cleaning machines, which is very time-consuming due to the large area. Our CR700 starts its job late at night, when everyone is out of the gym. He cleans the hall floors every day and is finished with his task by five o’clock in the morning at the latest. The main goal is to remove resin residues that have arisen after handball training or a game. In addition, regular cleaning can prevent large accumulations of dust.

DEUTZ AG is one of the world‘s leading manufacturers of innovative drive systems. The company‘s core competencies lie in the development, production, sales, and service of diesel, gas, and electrified drive systems for professional applications. To relieve of the cleaning staff, the main traffic routes in the factory are to be cleaned autonomously. The major challenge here is on the one hand the high degree of contamination by oil, wood oil, wood, shavings, etc. and on the other hand the large area of approx. 3,000 m², which posed a great challenge to the cleaning staff.

Autonomous cleaning can be done outside working hours. This allows us to flexibly adjust cleaning times and perform cleaning work also be carried out at night. This means that the production processes can be maintained, and both forklift trucks and people on the move are not affected by the cleaning work. The service station enables the robot can empty itself, supply itself with fresh water and charge the battery independently.
