Ulm, [September 22, 2025] – ADLATUS Robotics GmbH, a specialist in cleaning robotics from Ulm, and NEURA Robotics GmbH, a pioneer in cognitive robotics from Metzingen, have entered into a strategic partnership. The aim of the collaboration is to accelerate innovation in the field of cleaning robotics, open up new markets, and offer customers worldwide an even broader portfolio of solutions.

The CMS trade fair (Cleaning Management System) in Berlin from September 23 to 26, 2025, marks the first official appearance of this cooperation. At the trade fair, NEURA Robotics’ Rumi and Mobi cleaning robots will be presented for the first time together with ADLATUS Robotics’ CR700C and SR1300 cleaning robots in a collaborative co-branding initiative – a conscious and visible sign of the close cooperation between NEURA and ADLATUS.

Trucks regularly drive directly into the brewery’s warehouse for loading and unloading, bringing in dirt from outside. This dirt must not settle on the bottles in the open beverage crates, as these are delivered directly to customers.

Federal Ministry of Education and Research provides funding of €3.6 million.

In the coming years, service robots/assistant robots will increasingly be able to take over tasks such as cleaning and transport in public spaces, e.g. in pedestrian zones, public squares, train stations and parking garages. As a result, they will not only become part of the urban landscape, but workflows will change. The encounters of uninvolved persons with these robots will thus increase in everyday life. Therefore, in order to perform their task efficiently and safely, the robots must interact not only with their human team partners, but also with these uninvolved passers-by. This includes, for example, communicating their task and coordinating path planning. The Ulm Center for Research and Evaluation of Human-Robot Interaction in Public Spaces (ZEN-MRI) will intensively deal with these and other questions in the coming years. To this end, the University of Ulm, Stuttgart Media University, the Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Engineering IAO, Adlatus Robotics GmbH and the city of Ulm have joined forces in a cooperative project.

Over the next three years, the partners will develop the necessary requirements for robot behavior and interaction strategies (MRI) for the public Ram. The research will focus on interactions with passers-by to optimize robot behavior, but also on embedding the robots in public space. To this end, test areas will be set up in public spaces in downtown Ulm. Among other things, areas are planned in the pedestrian zone and in the Railway station, where encounters will then be possible in people’s everyday lives. Legal and ethical issues will thus become just as important an element of the investigations as design, safety requirements and questions of urban planning specifications.

The project is funded for the period 01.09.2022 – 31.08.2025 by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research with a total of € 3.6 million. The project work was officially launched with the kick-off event held on Thursday, 03.11.2022 at the M25 information center in downtown Ulm.

We have built a new company building and thus changed our company location. Here, there is a cleaning area of approx. 2.700 m². Since we are always using the latest technology in the direction of Industry 4.0, a cleaning robot was worth an investment for us. J. Wagner GmbH is one of the world‘s leading manufacturers of coating technology for the finishing of surfaces with powder and wet lacquers, paints and other liquid materials. The product portfolio is divided into two dimensions to meet the specific requirements of customers. The Decorative Finishing division develops equipment specifically tailored to the requirements of do-it-yourselfers; the Industrial Solutions division manufactures products and systems for industrial surface coating for a wide range of industrial sectors.

Due to different requirements, the logistics and assembly of both divisions take place in different, interconnected hall areas. Until now, cleaning was a very time-consuming process carried out by the company‘s own logistics staff with the help of various cleaning devices.  Both the cleaning of the floor and the cleaning/maintenance of the corresponding equipment took up a lot of time, which was then lacking in the actual area of responsibility of logistics.

As the CR700 cleans completely autonomously and cleans itself, it can easily clean the storage and assembly areas outside business hours. This offers enormous time savings in keeping the areas clean. And the daily routine is not disturbed.
